History

The lowest point of the village lies on the southwestern outskirts of approximately 382 m above sea level, the highest in the cadastral Bukovic at 825 m average altitude of the village is 411 m. The village has an area of ​​46.50 square kilometers and a population of 2,788 in 2007.

One of the oldest in Šumperk district and its origin dates back to 1351, when the local vicarage fell to Litomyšl bishopric. 

Local history has long been associated with the family of Žerotín, which since the second half of the 15th century belonged to the village first as collateral, but since 1507 has been fixed as part of their assets. From that time until today have grown up in the village's most significant historical landmarks, including the national cultural monument castle and papermill, as well as the thermal baths, the parish church, ecclesiastical and secular buildings.
